Local students compete to join the “Dark Side”
Holland Public, Holland Christian, Black River, and West Ottawa Schools are competing to see who can reduce their energy consumption the most January through March as the 5th quarterly GUEP competition.
The Final Event at the Maas Center will begin with light refreshments and an expo with energy efficiency related information from local experts.
Representatives from the Holland Youth Advisory Council and from each school will present on their school’s experience with the competition. There will also be a presentation from the keynote speaker, HBPW General Manager Dave Koster, on the Community Energy Plan, Georgetown University Energy Prize and the Holland Energy Park.
Once the champion school is announced, students from the winning school that attend this event will be entered into a drawing for some great prizes (iPad, GoPro camera, gift cards and more!). Along with the winning school, prizes will be awarded to stand-out teachers and students from each participating school.
